A silky, smooth, Speyside, sherry cask sipper… please read on below.

£105.00£195.00

This is your opportunity to buy a share in a sumptuous Pedro Ximenez Sherry Hogshead re-racked from a first fill bourbon cask distilled in heart of Speyside in 2016. Winston is one of a pair of casks we were lucky enough to get our hands on in July 2020. It does have a brother, aptly named Tam, which is to mature it’s whole ten years in bourbon barrel. Click here to have a look.

This cask coming into it’s fifth year already shows a deep sweet flavours. Maltiness is still being mellowed by the fresh wood giving great toasted oak flavours. There is a touch of spice, orangey citrus and hint of chocolate. This cask was filled with 200 litres of new make spirit in 2016 at a filling strength of 65% alcohol. This dram harks from a multi-award winning Speyside distillery famous for it’s heavily sherry cask mature malts. As Winston matures, we are expecting it to quickly match and far exceed expectations of the sumptuous richness and sweetness associated with this dram. The new sherry wood is quickly providing dark colour and chocolate, toffee, dates and all those great tastes that only first fill Pedro Ximenez sherry can bestow on a spirit. Bottling is due in Summer of 2026 at 10 years old.

FAQ's

Cask shares split single cask whisky into smaller and more affordable chunks. Rather than having to shell out thousands for a full cask, cask shares allow multiple people to buy part shares in the same cask reducing the cost while giving you access to all the benefits of cask ownership. We call this a “Syndicate” bottling.

Every cask of whisky  is unique and as such, yields a different number of bottles. These are divided into shares which are for sale through our website. When you purchase your whisky cask share we issue you with a certificate of ownership of your share for the cask purchased.

The Uncharted Whisky Co. then takes care of everything for you from the storage to the bottling once the cask is of age and the tax payments. We also provide you with yearly updates on your cask’s maturation progress,  tasting notes, strength and colouring. Once per year, you can order a sample of the cask to do your own tasting.
