Now 7 years old, this has evolved over the years in Uncharted Whisky’s custody. The spirit is still vibrant, and malty but more complex flavours have begun to develop while the maltiness- which often indicates youth in single malt spirits- has begun to fade. However, don’t get us wrong this is still a gutsy malt as you’d expect from the rugged and salty shores of the Orkney Isles. This whisky still shows a touch of the fresh and vibrant maltiness with green apple, soft stone fruit and vanilla emerging when the dram is mellowed with a dash of water. The gentle heathery peat is mild on the nose and smooth on the palate. This dram from a multi-award winning distillery is already good and the next three years before its bottling promise great great things.
