A bottle to celebrate our new gaff! Opulently rich, spiced and ever so complex! Sweet meets savoury in this rather refined and exclusive dram. Chocolate, spiced biscuits and bags and bags of dried fruit. This sweet, unctuous dram is available to order now. Each bottle is drawn from a single first fill ex-Palo Cortado sherry quarter cask, filled and individually labelled by hand. As with all Uncharted Whisky bottles, we proudly offer this to you at natural colour and without chill-filtration. This Must Be The Place has been bottled at 50% ABV and there is 191 bottles available- making them as collectible as they are distinct and delicious.
The rarest of sherries is Palo Cortado- only 1 or 2% of sherry becomes Palo Cortado. The rarest of sherry make the rarest sherry cask which we believe has matured a rather marvellous whisky. Please enjoy the sweetness of an Oloroso and the refinement of an Amontillado packed into this Palo Cortado Speysider.
Due to the teeny-tiny nature of this quarter cask, this will exclusively be sold at The Fintry Inn or on our website.
WHY THE NAME - THIS MUST BE THE PLACE
Uncharted is owned and operated exclusively by Jack Breslin and Dana de Vos- it’s our baby! Jack grew up in the beautiful village of Fintry nested in the Campsie Fells and the pandemic saw us move out of the hustle and bustle of city life and back to Fintry. Our local pub, (established in the year 1750!!!) had sadly closed it’s doors in 2019 and it looked unlikely to re-open. Something had to be done! We teamed up with some long-term close friends (husband and wife team, Chris and Leigh) to re-open the pub, on-site brewery and the Uncharted Whisky store.
Now it’s time to have a dram to celebrate our new home. Introducing, This Must Be The Place…
“Home, is where I want to be but I guess I’m already there”
WHICH DISTILLERY?
Benrinnes! A stunning single malt from a stunning distillery which is coming up for it’s 200th birthday! History indeed! Located in the heart of Speyside, at the foot of Ben Rinnes hill where the water flows from, Benrinnes produces light, fragrant classic speyside spirit.

Nose
A sweet nose that reveals sultanas and dried figs goes on to develop into more unctuous notes of dark chocolate with cinnamon and cracked pepper in the background.
Palate
A bold and heady concoction! First the bitter sweetness of chocolate hand in hand with a refined sweetness. A hint of citrus rind is followed by a mellow toasted nuts.
Finish
A tremendously refined balancing act fades slowly. The sherry sweetness lingers on mixing with the dry spicing and hint of bitterness. The fruit is first to check-out, leaving the dark chocolate to blether with the spice array a good while longer.
