Each bottle is drawn from a single barrel, filled and individually labelled by hand and is proudly offered to you free from colouring or chill-filtration. At natural cask strength of 54.5% ABV, our artful, distinct and tactile bottles are each filled by hand in minute single cask batches. These rare bottles are highly collectable and utterly brilliant to experience “glass in hand”.
WHY THE NAME - ALIVE AND KICKING?
We give all of our releases a name. The name has to be tailored to the cask while also appealing to our slightly jilted sense of humour. This dram from one of the lesser seen distilleries is just so vivaciously vibrant. The scent of fresh tropical fruit can be detected from clear across the table. Zippy, aromatic and vibrant, vibrant, vibrant. This is one seriously spirited spirit- it is Alive and Kicking.
WHICH DISTILLERY?
Mannochmore Single Malt Scotch, an amazingly smooth and fruity Speyside spirit. Mannochmore has a fascinating history; founded by John Haig & Co, producer of the famously black whisky Loch Dhu, a period of planned closings and re-openings allowing the team of distillery workers to alternate yearly between Mannochmore and neighbouring GlenLossie distillery. Additionally, there was another long period of dormancy in the 80s. However, today – as this dram shouts from the rooftops- Mannochmore is Alive and Kicking.
This release will be ready for shipping in late October 2021 and is strictly limited to just 3 bottles per customer.

Nose
Pineapple, peaches, passionfruit burst onto the palate. Apparently my nose is a fan of alliteration. This super sweet and sumptuous whisky is vibrant and fragrant. A soft baking follows the fruit.
Palate
A depth of flavour hits the palate initially quite complex. As it begins to mellow and coats the mouth, individual flavours of peach, lemon and pear drops emerge. Plenty of pepper accompanies the cask strength. Subtle spices mingled with oak begin to emerge following the vivacious fruit’s main event.
Finish
The warmth and delicate stone fruit is left in the aftermath. A rich round mouthfeel suggests a touch of dried spice on the end palate. The word moreish springs to mind.
