This is your opportunity to buy a share in an amazing cask distilled on the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.
Angus here, named for one of our most rocking rock stars, has been filled into a refill oloroso sherry hogshead. For those Uncharted Whisky fanatics among you, you may notice that this cask is a sister cask to those that made up the bottling Caledonia Dreaming- a 28 year old vatting of 2 ex-bourbon casks. Well there was third… and we did something funky. At the same time as we were bottling the Loch Lomond, we also bottled a beautiful Braeval 10 year old called Higher Ground. The wood still had bags of vibrant aromatic flavour to give and the Loch Lomond cask was just sitting there. The combination of the two was inevitable- it was too perfect an opportunity!
This Loch Lomond was originally filled on 18th of October 1996. It lay in Loch Lomond Distillery to mature for 28 years before we moved it to Edinburgh where it was re-racked on the 18th of June 2025 and laid back down for it’s sherry finish at a strength of 58.3% abv.
The liquid was stunningly soft and creamy with notes of green apples, cremola foam, american cream soda, and cedar wood. The re-racking of the spirit into the sherry barrique promises excellent things. Who knows just how this already mature liquid will evolve in the years to come!
